Inglewood Sentinels March On
This past Friday the Sentinels varsity football team team of Inglewood found themselves trailing in a spartan battle against their crosstown rivals, Leuzinger. only held a three point lead with less than three minutes remaining in the game. The Sentinels had once held a 20-point lead and seemied to be in control of this Bay League scrimmage between two undefeated teams. But Leuzinger fought back, with Journee Tonga scoring three touchdowns to seize a lead in the fourth quarter. Inglewood quarterback Kingston Tisdell

wasn’t ready to let their unbeaten streak end. “Inglewood, the energy is always there,” Tisdell said. “When we’re down, our hopes might waver a bit. But it takes leaders to lift the team, to remind them that we’re still in this, and we can make things happen.”with
that motivation, Tisdell backed up hiswords with action. Only 26 seconds remained in the game anda” The Wood was in the red zone. He dove into the end zone, sealing the game-winning touchdown.
The Inglewood marching band, about 40 members strong, erupted in celebration, blasting their tubas and trumpets as the Sentinels savored a hard-fought 34-29 victory.
“He’s a proven winner,” Inglewood coach Mil’Von James said of Tisdell. “He stayed composed, didn’t panic, and led us to victory. Our quarterback showed resilience and guided us through to the end.

Let’s talk about Mil’Von James real quick. He has a record to stand on.Coach James played college ball for UCLA and UNLV, and was named the 2022 Daily Breeze football coach of the year. When he took over the sentinel rogram in 2019, the team had gone 1-19 in the previous two seasons
In his first season, James led the Sentinels to a 12-1 record and a loss in the CIF-Southern Section Division 13 semifinals. Since then, the team has had a 36-3 record in three seasons and a 40-3 overall record. James has developed 14 D-1 college recruits in three years, including nine on his current team..
