Los Angeles Rams Host Inaugural STEAM Career Day at SoFi Stadium
December 5, Los Angeles
The Los Angeles Rams and Hollywood Park concluded their inaugural STEAM Career Day on Friday, December 5, at SoFi Stadium, marking a notable expansion of the organization’s education and workforce development outreach in the region. The four-hour program welcomed approximately 400 seventh- and eighth-grade students from multiple Los Angeles-area school districts for an immersive, behind-the-scenes exploration of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics careers connected to sports, entertainment, and large-scale venue operations.
Presented in partnership with Cedars-Sinai and California Resources Corporation, the event was structured as a series of rotating stations positioned throughout the stadium complex. Students moved between the field level, Rams locker room, control and server rooms, and various club and premium spaces, where Rams and Hollywood Park employees
described their daily responsibilities and the technical skills required for their roles. The stations emphasized real-world applications of STEAM concepts, linking classroom learning to careers in operations, broadcast technology, engineering, facilities management, data systems, and creative services.
Cedars-Sinai and California Resources Corporation executives and staff participated in both panel discussions and hands-on activities. These sessions highlighted how STEAM disciplines are applied within healthcare, energy, and sustainability-focused business environments, offering students exposure to career paths beyond professional sports while reinforcing transferable skills. According to information shared by attendees on local social media, students responded most actively to demonstrations that allowed direct interaction with equipment and technology typically unseen by the public.
Rams Executive Vice President of Community Impact & Engagement Molly Higgins and Rams Manager of Social Justice and Football Development Noel Grisby were present throughout the day, reinforcing the organization’s stated goal of broadening access to career awareness for students from diverse backgrounds. Rams and Hollywood Park staff members representing a range of departments led the stations, providing practical insight into education pathways, entry-level opportunities, and long-term career progression.
The STEAM Career Day built upon a free interactive educational program launched by the Rams and Hollywood Park the previous month. That initiative, also developed with Cedars-Sinai and California Resources Corporation, targets fourth- through eighth-grade students through short films and lesson plans that profile Rams and Hollywood Park employees working in STEAM-related roles. The program is designed to introduce young students to careers they may not otherwise encounter and to position sports and entertainment venues as learning environments as well as community assets.
Posts and photos shared across crowd-sourced social media platforms on the day of the event highlighted students on the SoFi Stadium field
and in technical areas, with educators and parents noting the value of exposing middle school students to concrete examples of STEAM careers at an early age. Several accounts also pointed to the significance of hosting the event within an active NFL stadium, describing it as a setting that increased student engagement and attention.
By the conclusion of the program, the Rams and their partners framed the inaugural STEAM Career Day as a foundation for future events. The December 5 gathering demonstrated a coordinated effort among a professional sports organization, a major healthcare system, and an energy company to align educational outreach with workforce development, using SoFi Stadium as a practical classroom for the next generation of problem-solvers and innovators.

For the record: STEAM includes the Arts (A) in addition to the disciplines of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). STEAM integrates creative thinking, design, and humanities with the core STEM subjects.
